Beckman and CSRD

CSL professors played a key role in establishing two internationally respected centers of research at U of I: the Beckman Institute for Advanced Science and Technology and the Center for Supercomputing Research and Development (CSRD).

The Beckman Institute, with which CSL collaborates extensively, is the largest university-based multidisciplinary research institute in the world. CSRD was known worldwide for its work on the Cedar supercomputer.
